Upgrade unit firmware in Bridgemate Pro
[For Bridgemate II see the other instruction.]
Preparing the computer:
Connect the server to your computer and the mains power.
Start Bridgemate Control Software (BCS) without an active session. BCS can be started from
the Windows Start menu.
Make sure the region and channel settings of the server match those of the Bridgemates.
- Make sure Bridgemate Software Control is running.
- Go to menu Tools --> Options and tick the option "Disable server detection". Press OK.
- Remove the server from the serial port (leave any USB converter connected to the serial port). Wait for "Bridgemate RF server: not connected" to appear in the upper left frame.
- Now connect the Bridgemate data communication cable to the serial port. If you don't have one, contact your Bridgemate distributor for how to obtain one.
- Go to menu Tools --> Bridgemate --> Update firmware.
- Make sure the cable is properly connected and press OK. The firmware update screen now appears.
- Press "Choose firmware file".
- Browse to the folder where you stored the files, select the Bridgemate firmware file (AU232a.bpf) and press "Open". The file should now appear behind the text "Path".
- Take the Bridgemate you want to update, activate it by pressing the OK button and ensure it shows the text "Programming successful". Connect the data communication cable to the socket on the backside of the Bridgemate. You should see the message "Connect: Bridgemate v1.2" and "Writing firmware…".
- Wait for the progress indicator to reach 100% and the text "Writing firmware completed. Disconnect Bridgemate" to appear.
- Now disconnect the cable from the Bridgemate. The Bridgemate will switch off automatically.
- Press OK on the Bridgemate, you should see the text "Bridgemate Pro v2.3.2a AU". The Bridgemate has now successfully been reprogrammed to version 2.3.2a.
- Repeat steps 9 to 12 for all other Bridgemates.
In case reprogramming firmware is interrupted, Bridgemate Software Control will show a message that writing the firmware failed. In such a case, reconnect the Bridgemate and press OK to restart the firmware writing process.
After successfully performing all four updates, you can start using the Bridgemate Pro system.
